We
SPECIALIZE in Murder Mystery Weekends and have written several which are
listed below for you to choose from! We have been hosting these weekends
filled with fun and laughter for 14 years. Groups, couples, individuals, and
children are welcome.
Your
Murder Mystery Weekend begins Friday evening and concludes Sunday after
brunch. Check-in starts at 4:00 p.m. Friday. Try to be checked in,
dressed to kill and gathered in the drawing room to begin the mystery by
either 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.
EVERYONE is a suspect and HAS A MOTIVE FOR MURDER!
Prepare
for a weekend filled with fun and laughter! Are you ready.. to ..interrogate
the other suspects, prove your innocence and find the murderer? That is what
this weekend is all about. Information will be sent by e-mail or mail. You
will become someone else for the weekend. Your costume can be simple with
props or you can go all out and make, borrow or rent a costume. We have some
things here so just ask. We may just have it on hand (click on pictures
above for costume ideas). Some guests like to solve the puzzle; others like
to dress in costumes. It is all for fun so have fun with it.
You
can play an active role or a supporting role. Active roles are suspects
with clues and information that must be divulged. You can have as much
fun with your character as you want. Supporting roles are maids,
butlers, townspeople, neighbors, parents, and/or chaperones. They get to
play small parts, ask questions and try to solve the murder and/or
protect their loved ones. Whatever the role you will laugh all weekend.
Choose from the mysteries below:
Weekend Packages
1) "The
Ragged Edge Affair," is set
at the Kennedy Mansion in 1936. This is a time when men carried pipes and
wore smoking jackets and women had long holders for their cigarette. It was
a romantic time and fun to be part of. 4 to 6 couples with active roles and
several supporting roles. There is also a part for a child.
2) "Rock 'N Roll at Roley Edge Mansion - 1959"
Who was murdered when? 4 to 10 couples, 9-20
active parts and the balance are teenagers and chaperones having a good time.
Remember
those teen years and rock 'n roll? Costumes are easy for this one. Bad boys
wore
jeans and white T-shirts with cigarettes rolled in the sleeve, a curl on
their
forehead? Girls wore Poodle skirts and danced with each other. It was a fun,
less
complicated time. Extra parts for Women.
3) "Jeb Stuart's Raid on Chambersburg"
Join Jeb Stuart and General Robert E. Lee at the Kennedy Mansion (originally
October 10, 11, 1862). Historically based and tied to the Kennedy family
that built the Inn. 8 to 10 Couples, 16-22 active parts and noisy
townspeople and neighbors trying to find out what is going on.
4) "Godfather
and the Rum Runner"
The stage is
set in a secluded Speakeasy in
1925. You can be a good guy, gangster, performer or opera singer. One thing
for sure, you will laugh and have a great time. The mystery is about Joe
Kennedy, who made his fortune running rum, or demon rum as the Prohibition
activists' would call it. The Philadelphia Mob just happens to be staying at
the Speakeasy too. 8-12 Couples needed. There are supporting parts and parts
for children, the Godfather's children, of course. He is big on family.
Bring your machine gun or bodyguard for protection.
5) "Haunted
Inn Mystery" This mystery is being
written now. A young lady appears to guests at the Inn and motions for them
to come to her. She is standing on a rock formation that drops 50 to the
water below. She is wearing a white cotton gown holding a lantern. When
guests reach her, she disappears. Would you like to be the medium through
which she communicates? Would you like to be a guest at the Inn who is
caught up in the mystery that unfolds? Cast in 1945 at a country Victorian
Mansion now operated as a Guest House or Bed & Breakfast. Call for more
info.
6) "Gambling
on the Mississippi" Are you
a River Dandy, (gambler), Piano Player or Burlesque Queen? This murder
mystery will be fun no matter what part you play. 3 to 5 couples are needed
to travel up the Mississippi by Steamboat. It is turn of the century
and this is luxury traveling at it's best. Good for first time mystery
solvers. We'll have time to play a few hands of poker.
7)
"Disco Murder"
The lights go out. A murder takes place at the disco bar. A few drinks
poured and tempers are flaring in the heat of the night. What did you
see? Bring your drinks and join us for happy hour (we are in a dry
township). The usual gang is here and talk show host, "Sex with Dr.
Ruth". Well, something like that. 3 to 5 couples, 6 to 10 active parts
and supportive roles. Remember John Travolta's strut in Saturday Night
Fever? Do you still have the leisure suit hanging in the closet? How
about the mini skirt and boots?
8) "Texas Hold'em"
Do you like the wild, Wild West? If so, this is the mystery for you. Add
a little country music and the crackle of gunfire and someone face down
in the dust, shot in the back. Would you kill for love or money? Put on
your hat and boots. Strap on your holster. Join us at the Paradise Salon
to solve the murder. You bring the whiskey cause we are in a dry
township called Drygulch. There are 6 active parts and several
supporting roles. Do you play poker?
9)
"Love Me Tender"
Love, broken hearts, murder and more! The young couple elopes to the
Love-Me-Tender Chapel in defiance of the bride's father? An ensuing
scuffle as vows are exchanged and a gunshot rings out. Who shot the
father? Don't bet on the obvious. Anything can happen in Vegas. And...
what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. When you get home no one will
know you are the murderer. Guitar and Cadillac are optional. Remember
Elvis, his long sideburns and glitzy clothes? 6
active parts and several supporting roles.
10)
"Headline Murder"
Newspaper Mogul found dead! Who did it and why? Follow the money and the
lies. It could be you. Join us and find out. It is 1947 and you have
been summoned to discuss the future of the Newspaper Empire. Life is
great. The war is over, big band music fills the airways and
romance...well, that is in overdrive. The "Baby Boom" is in full swing.
But Stop! There is hot news and cold-hearted killers and the obituary
page. Three couples with active parts and several supportive roles.
11)
"Notorious Gangster"
This caper takes place in a 1920's Speakeasy. Remember Al Capone? We
have our own "notorious gangster" and where would he be without his
flapper girl. Imagine 8 worldly characters, suspense and intrigue,
deceit and larceny, sex and murder. You enter the front door and are
quickly escorted to...? Join us and find out. Supportive roles also
available.
12)
"When An Angel Dies"
The Dante's Angels were the top air show in the nation. We all watched
as the leader's plane suddenly took a nose-dive and crashed into the
landing strip. Had the plane been tampered with? You are being held for
questioning and you could be the murderer. Are you the widow, the
publicist, star reporter, psychiatrist, another flyboy or the mechanic?
There are 8 active roles and several supporting parts.
13) "Beer
Brewing Murder" You have
arrived at the "Beer Festival" for a weekend of fun, food, and beer but
the 'suds' stop flowing when a micro-brewing entrepreneur is found dead.
Bottoms up..it is a case of ice-cold murder and you are a suspect. Bring
your favorite beer to share, we are in a dry township. Anyone have a
John Denver CD. This may take awhile but we can all work, eat, drink
together and solve this murder. There are four couples (8 min) and
supporting parts.
14)

In California Wine Country, a body that has been missing for six long
years is finally found along with a host of new clues to solve the
murder. Join us for a mystery that takes place at a formal wine tasting.
